Diederik A. ten Cate
Diederik is a Dutch tax lawyer with extensive knowledge of domestic and international tax law. He graduated in civil law at the Rotterdam University (1991), in tax law at the Leiden University (1993) and in International and European Tax Law at the Rotterdam University (1994).
Diederik started his career in 1991 at Coopers & Lybrand (PWC) as an international tax advisor. During 1996 and 1997 he was seconded to the London office (he lived there with his family) to set up a liaison branch between the UK and Dutch firm. In 1998, he moved to KPMG Meijburg & Co as international and national tax advisor. In 2004, he joined a local boutique firm in Rotterdam and started his own business in 2007, which is one of the founding firms of CourtLane.
Diederik has extensive experience and vast knowledge in providing tax, legal and financial solutions to business owners, focused not only on their businesses but also their private situations.
Diederik is a member of the Dutch Association of Tax Advisors (NOB).
Diederik is fluent in Dutch and English and has a basic knowledge of German and Spanish.
Koen J. Slobbe
Koen is a Dutch tax lawyer with extensive knowledge of domestic and international tax law and transfer pricing issues with a particular focus on US multinationals.
He graduated in tax law at the Leiden University (1989) and started his career at Loyens & Loeff. In 1994 he joined PepsiCo International in London (UK) as their European Tax Manager and became (1996) Group Tax Manager for PepsiCo Asia in Hong Kong. In 2000, Koen returned to the Netherlands and joined a private internet company as Vice President of Tax, successfully guiding the company’s IPO, managing all tax aspects thereof as well as the subsequent delisting upon takeover in 2001. Following 2001, he was involved in managing the tax and finance functions of a number of IT companies and joined (2004) Diageo as Director of Corporate Services, coordinating all tax and accounting affairs of the Diageo Group in the Netherlands. Koen subsequently joined GE Capital in 2008 as the Tax Director for Working Capital Solutions based in the Netherlands. In 2013, Koen decided to join the Fipaco Group as the Managing Partner – Tax. In 2015 he successfully completed a Fipaco assignment for Kuwait Petroleum International (Q8) to act as their Global Head of Tax a.i. and was involved in a number of high-profile business and M&A transactions for Q8.
Koen is a member of the Dutch Association of Tax Advisors (NOB) and lectures International Tax Law at the Avans University of Applied Science.
Koen is fluent in Dutch, English and German and has a basic knowledge of French.
Fred D. Piet
Fred started his career with Deloitte (1982) and relocated in 1987 to the Italian speaking part of Switzerland joining the headquarters of the Fidinam Group, a primary international consultancy firm, in Lugano (Ticino).
He is an International corporate and tax consultant for both high-net-worth individuals and international enterprises. Fred has a broad knowledge of tax planning, corporate reorganization and asset protection schemes with focus on The Netherlands and its foreign operations in an international context. Vast working experience in international corporate restructuring as active participant in the pre-IPO restructuring of a world-famous fashion brand and an airline company as well the cross-border and overseas mergers of listed pharmaceutical companies.
Fred particularly has extensive experience and vast knowledge in providing Italian and Swiss clients with innovative and practical tax planning solutions with respect to their international operations. To work closely together with these clients and maximize his impact, Fred also operates out of Lugano, in the Italian speaking part of Switzerland. Fred has 30+ years of experience and has been involved with the Fipaco group from its start in 2007.
Fred is fluent in Dutch, Italian, English and German and has a basic knowledge of French and Spanish.
